Alyssa Chalmin
Alyssa Chalmin joined the lab as an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University. She is now attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in the class of 2023. She returned to the lab for the summer of 2021, and worked on a project quantifying platelets in the brain microvasculature of EcoHIV-infected mice.

Karl Johnson
Karl joined the lab as an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University studying Biophysics and Economics. He joined the lab during January of 2015 and has a strong passion for immunology!
His work in the Metcalf Pate lab focused on the downstream effects of PMA formation in SIV-infected macaques using qRT-PCR and FACS. (pictured middle) |
Catherine Cryer
Catherine joined Dr. Metcalf Pate's lab as a veterinary student for the summer of 2014, and worked on a project that investigated latent virus reservoirs utilizing immunocompromised mice who are 'macaque-ized' (meaning that they contain cells from a macaque).
Catherine graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with her VMD in 2017. |
BENJAMIN ALADEJEBI
Ben joined the lab during the summer of 2015 as a Center for Talented Youth (CTY) Scholar. During his stay with the lab, Ben used immunohistochemistry to quantify platelet-endothelial associations in SIV-infected macaques with CNS disease.
Hayley Weidenbenner
Hayley joined the lab as an undergraduate at JHU. Her work focused on relocation stress and platelet activation and PLA formation in macaques.
Hannah Schneider
Hannah joined the lab as an undergraduate at JHU.
